I don't have any memories of meeting great grandparents but I do have memories of my late mum's mum as she used to live nearby and would visit my parents house in the 1970's and 80's before she passed away. I used to remember how excited I got when granma was coming as she used to get the bus to the top end of the street and walk down (flat walk).
Apparently I did meet my late dad's mum once when she came to Oz from UK for a visit.
I never got to meet either of my grandad's. Dunno much about my family backstory. I have a very messy extended family with aunts/uncles, nieces/nephews who all grew up as die-hard christians and here I was rejecting religion entirely in the mid 1990's onwards. My mum's brother and sister are also passed away now.
I have no contact with my sister, or any of my nieces/nephews.
My dad and mum had a very rocky time. Dad used to get drunk alot, fight with mum, and cheat on her. I guess that all led to them divorcing in 1980 when I was 12 and my sister was 8. I've never seen what a happy positive loving family unit looks like.
