No. I’m soft-spoken so people like that sometimes think they can run over me.

@bijouxbroussard But you have an air of self assuredness, comfortable in yourself, which others, including myself respect.

@bijouxbroussard way to go women
I like assertive people, but I do not like dominating people. I think it's one thing to have a dominant personality, but another to be a dominating or domineering person. A dominant person can have many terrific strengths. When they use them as a stronghold over you, it's no longer good for anyone though. I feel for you, as I live with a very domineering person and it gets exhausting. Sometimes you just feel like a bug trying not to get squished into nothing. I hope you can find a healthy balance with your family. Best wishes to you

It really depends what their heart and motivation is. Dominant personalities who have the best interests of people at heart bring a sense of calmness, safety and security to those of us who prefer to be led but if the dominant personalities are not leading in a way that benefits, they become toxic and suffocating.

@PatientlyWaiting25 my aunt is dominant her appearance shows she rules the family .
PatientlyWaiting25 · 46-50, F
@rolex928 what is the negative influence of her being in the family? What are the positives?

I do admire those who have determination and the drive to do things in life, but not when it goes too far, where they tell everyone else what to do, when to do it, and how to do it.
My sisters tend to treat me like I am still the baby sister, but it is mothering type of stuff, annoying at times, but not overbearing, except one sister, whom I rarely see, nobody likes a know-it-all.

@Justmeraeagain it's usually doesn't mean they tell you what to do , Dominant in a way they think they are superior to all
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
@rolex928 that's my sister
rolex928 · 31-35, M
@Justmeraeagain I don't like that type of presence really

I used to work with a lot of people like that. I just worked round them, comfortable in myself.

I am on your side, I hate dominant personalities.
rolex928 · 31-35, M
@Blacksheep557 they become dominant either by there attitude or the amount of money they have in there bank account
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
