I went for a drive early this morning and i went into a store for a bottle of water and a lady was coming out and she said, " i want you to know that you are so beautiful. " i thanked her and gave her a hug, i told her that she is too and that her beauty lifted my spirits today. Words matter, smiles matter. We need to do it more often

It's important. We ignore each other so much and a little bit of a gesture to let someone know "I'm happy your here on this planet with me" even if we never see each other again is a bit of community building that matters.

Rural people in the UK are more likely to do that than town/city people. I have friends from the city who are quite freaked out when strangers talk to them when out and about where I am
