Would you support supermarkets are insisting on digital ID for shoppers. Can’t enter the store unless you have it.
This surely must help the stores reducing theft

Fortunately there isn't one here that I know of. Costco is 30 miles away. Such places have become less and less do to the popularity of Walmart which doesn't require such a thing.
As to theft, it happens even at Costco and other places. Not even security cameras can catch everything. Which even Walmart has found out.
Must say there are a few places where digital ID is optional. Vons here is one of them. And they do give lower gas prices at their separate gas station.
I don't have even that optional ID. A few pennies off per gallon doesn't make it worth the while.
They would have to have at least a whole percentage discount to be worth it. And they will never do that.
That BTW is what you really save at places like Costco. Pennies. Not the whole percentages put on the jacked up prices put on the receipts.
They jack the price up to give you that discount.
