That’s a pretty cruel thing to say and I would probably keep my distance. I would be hostile, but I’d engage as little as possible.
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
@Harmonium1923 it hurts every day. I loved my family, now I feel like there's no point

I have a view on both sides.

If someone said that to me, yes, I'd distance myself from a lot of interactions.

That said. My oldest sister is a very difficult, sometimes hateful and always loud and self centered person, i love her dearly. Because she is my sister, and it's just way she is.
I also know that if she was someone I met off the streets, no, we wouldn't be friends. Or even like eachother. But nothing in this world or anything she ever did would make me tell her that. That would be unfeeling on my part.
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
@Bexsy is it uncomfortable to be around her because of that?
@ScreamingFox no, i am as comfortable in her presence as i am with my other sister who I'm close to, now there is times I do not like being around her. When i know she's going to go on a rant.

But I'm comfortable enough around her, and we're sisters, I'll just say "ffs chill tf out, it ain't that serious'

My other sister will bust out laughing, then we all will and moment passes

They love because it's what they think they should do. Not enough. I would attempt to make the relationship better for a time, but if nothing shows from their end then I've done all i can do and it is what it is. There are better ways to spend my time.

I’d keep my distance. Connect with those who like me as a person and don’t feel obligated to.

Kept my distance...

First and foremost....
Though family is important, I've cut off having anything to do with them.

Its a matter of my own well-being not what they have done or how they live their lives.

Pretzel · 70-79, M
I keep my distance and know I can help them or they can help me because we have similar dna

friendship? why? they said they don't like you.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
I stopped caring a long time ago. I am who I am, if they wanted a sweet little girl, they should have adopted. I say that you can't grow strawberries on tomato vines.
TinyViolins · 31-35, M
Why would anyone want to be around people they don't like? There's no point in pursuing a relationship. Their minds are made up.

The only thing worse then being all alone is being around people who make you feel all alone.

@TinyViolins I do like me
TinyViolins · 31-35, M
@ScreamingFox As you should. Now the hard part is putting your heart out there for others to see. It's not gonna be everyone's cup of tea and we just have to accept that. But relationships are about quality, not quantity. Success usually comes after much trial and error
TheYawnArchive · 46-50, M
That's actually imo best that they feel that, those who take their "love" to the next level is like a weird and persistent nightmare.
WaryWitchWandering · 36-40, F
Keep my distance… I don’t need that kind of love in my life haha
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
@WaryWitchWandering it's bare minimum, exactly what I'm used to
robbie2499 · 61-69, F
I would take a good hard look at myself to see why I was disliked.

Those who think this about you are the ones who impose the distance.
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
@degraded it was said to my face, so yeah it definitely felt like rejection from them
