Now. THAT’S history

My daughter & spouse are in Boston this weekend for a wedding.. (He, not a preacher or boat captain, got papered up to officiate.)

She just texted me: “I just rode the MTA! I didn’t see Charlie, though.”

She’s only heard me singing the song for forty years.

Well, I don’t know his fate - but cold cases are being solved left and right. Maybe some day…@HootyTheNightOwl

I always think of that song whenever I ride any subway.

I never understood why his wife couldn't toss in a nickel with that sandwich!
@DrWatson I too wondered about their relationship.
Well... I guess his fate remains unlearned, then... 🤭🤭🤭

That song and "Scotch & Soda made me buy a guitar. Just wish they would have taught me to play the damn thing.
Papered up to officiate at the marriage ceremony of someone?
@Mamapolo2016 That was the obvious implication ("papered up to officiate") but whose wedding?
@SomeMichGuy A friend of my son-in-law.
@SomeMichGuy Our exchange reminded me of a girl from Arkansas who lived across the hall my freshman year.

Every time I sought clarity about one of her stories, she’d say, “You writin’ a book or sumpin?”
