Assuming you could afford to, would you buy a new Tesla car ?

We have one. We got it before Elon lost his mind. We aren’t rich but hubby always wanted one since they came out . So one day a tree fell on his previous car, and well, the buyout helped us to get the car. Now here’s some funny things to know -
1) I won’t drive it. It’s nice but it’s convoluted compared to other cars. Too many menus on the screen and the whole car depends on that screen. It’s like driving a car with your phone.
2) hubby likes my electric SUV more or at least appreciates its practicality much more than Tesla.
3) it’s resale value is in the toilet now. If it was bad before it’s not even existent now bc the politics of it and we aren’t even 🇺🇸 but not too many people are eager to get a Tesla.

It’s a nice car though. The technology in it is really innovative. You can tell someone really wanted to break the mould of the traditional vehicular experience. But it’s just not for me.

@DoubleRings do you have a sign on it stating you got it before Musk went nuts?

@samueltyler2 no but we seriously considered getting one. It’s the ride of shame now!

@samueltyler2 I saw those! They have a good range! Mines a Blazer EV. It’s amazing too.

@DoubleRings we looked at the small Chevy RV SUV. It was a great car, my wife hated the look of the dashboard.

@samueltyler2 I do find the dash in mine weird. It’s not a convenient lay out. Like the volume for the audio is severe left so the passenger doesn’t even have a chance to touch it without really reaching. But to adjust the fan it’s severe right and the driver really has to reach…. The buttons look like it’s 1983 style to turn on AC, but I appreciate that there are buttons rather than the touchscreen baloney in Tesla. I was driving a car from 2011 before this and the layout and style looks more modern, and convenient in that car.

@DoubleRings it was also the way Chevy chose color and chrome.

@DoubleRings yes, the 2 tone is bothersome
