Parents and me

Why do people think that this is a big deal when I or someone else still lives at home with their parents I’m still here because I have no choice I have epilepsy and I have no where else to go. Growing up people would be thrown out of their houses because they are either being disrespectful or just because they’re too old for their mommy and daddy

It's a cultural thing, in other cultures it's normal and expected for their children to live with their parents for as long as possible.

@MartinTheFirst Hey Martin! Bedn a while hope yer well.

Unfortunately especially in Indian culture this system is starting to fail for a range o reasons. If it a happy family then once the Son gets married the wife makes demands for them t b separate or divorce. If parents are awesome the kids may be right twats who give their parents grief! Emotionally or financially. A Uni degree but no jobs within a certain range means either travel over 18 miles t work (one way) or stay stuck with any old minimum paid jobs.

EDIT: My biggest regret in life's not moving out at 23. Living with insufferable beings is a huge shame! Sister n mum didn't get along well I was usually caught between the two. I wasted my 20's and hopefully my kids won't b the same (but too early t say anything ).

My friends' former colleague is early 40's and resigned due to Mental illness. Still at home and his mum is toxic. I personally know a son who kicked his parents out of THEIR home using deceit he got their signatures to say property is HIS. Family feud over dad business - SO MUCH SHI GOING ON!

@Sazzio Hmm well most people dont travel large distances either way for their first job, I certainly wouldn't. Also, the family dynamic is not universal where parents and children irk each other lol, I mean we all have our differences and fights will happen but that's just how humans work. If it works for someone, then you shouldn't judge them for it.

@MartinTheFirst I was 30 when we moved out. Wife had enough of my mum and can't blame my wife at all. She tolerated mum for over a year.
