never knew either grandfather. one died in ww2 by nazis and the other of stomach cancer before i was born. maternal grandmother was a lazy person and basically my mother had to raise her 2 siblings, and that started in the 40s in austria. paternal grandmother was a hardworking widow. they were refugees going into germany from danzig which is now a part of poland...she had my dad and his older sister with her...i think that was around 1944....so really i can only respect my paternal grandmother at this time

@rinkydinkydoink yeah...but my parents emigrated to canada in 1967 and had a pretty good life here. i'm glad i wasn't a part of that era.
