Getting back to my new normal....

Dealing with the grief of losing my son is almost unbearable some days and all of my family and friends try and get me out of the house. Last night my family hosted a costume party and I just threw something together. I was going for Julia Roberts, Pretty Woman but I got Dorothy Dandridge, Jessica Rabbit all night. 🙂 I think I needed that outing more than I realized.

You look wonderful as always. And I think you're doing the right thing in resuming normal activities. My mother did exactly that after the death of my brother. She always carried the wound in her heart but felt it would be a sin to carry on with life to it's fullest.

@ineedadrink It's definitely hard but I gotta keep on pushing..... And thanks!
@PEACH4LIFE I cannot fathom what that is like. But, tragically, people do move on without us.

A line from Lonesome Dove. “The only thing you can do about death is ride off from it.” I didn’t know what that meant when I read it, but I do now.

I know nothing about your personal tragedy, but I know one thing. Young or old, nobody who loved you would wish you to shrivel up and wait to die.

Your son wants you to live fully. For him.
