Do you like the Christian or first names your parents gave you?

Would you class it as disrespectful to your parents to say that you don’t like your names?

Are family traditional names involved in your naming?

My first name is the name of my paternal grandfather and my middle name is the name of my maternal grandfather. I have always liked both names, and now that my parents and grandparents are all gone, I like them even more. (Both names are very traditional). In fact, as I get older, I find myself using the shortened version of my first name less and opting for the full name. (For some reasons, Americans have a compulsion for shortening names.)

@DrWatson Same here a little, I sign my name the formal James. My brother has switched from Bob to Robert.
