Hey y'all, important..please read:

TL;DR: Badly abused child desperately wanted by a loving family, which badly needs legal financial assistance.

I have a friend that I will call Sloane, for privacy purposes. She has been a foster mom for a long time, and took in a little 5 year old that we will call Abby.

Abby grew up in Sloane's care, having been rescued from an abusive home. Abby then left Sloane's house, got hooked on drugs, and ended up with an abusive "man".

Abby got pregnant with his baby, who we will call Katie. He BROKE BOTH OF KATIE'S ARMS AND FRACTURED HER SKULL AT THE AGE OF 4 MONTHS.

SLOANE then stepped up and took KATIE in, saving ANOTHER baby from an abusive situation. Sloane and her husband have been working so faithfully to adopt Katie, and Abby has not passed a SINGLE drug test in the 6 months the courts gave her.

Sloane was assured REPEATEDLY by CPS, the courts, her CASA volunteer, etc..that there was no way she would not be granted the adoption of Katie.

But Friday, they GRANTED ABBY A 6 MONTH EXTENSION. This means that Sloane and her husband, who already have 3 bio children, have to come up with 5k by January 1st, JUST to retain an attorney.

They do not just have this laying around!!

She loves this baby like her own arm, y'all. I told her that there is no way I won't get her that money, even if it takes the form of a loan taken against my house.

Anything that y'all can do to help would be such a blessing. I am already trying to figure out how to get 2 roommates in here, am renting out one of my vehicles, am looking into a 2nd job, etc. I have already given to the gofundme, so it reflects my full name.

I would rather not broadcast my full name publicly, so if you are at all willing to put yourself in the place of a now 14 month old who was saved from an abusive situation, loved fully by a healthy family, and now may be forced BACK into that situation..hit me up and I will link you please.

This is truly very sad and unreal that they aren`t being allowed to adopt this child. If Sloane and her hubby can afford to adopt then allow it. Unfortunately I don`t have the money to help out, being on a pension doesn`t leave a lot at the end of the month. 🥺

If you would like me the gofundme, I'd be glad to contribute. My heart goes out to that kid especially because my parents raised foster children to adoption.

And I've seen how unreasonable the foster system can be, on top of already abusive/negligent parents

CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@foldedunfolding Absolutely. We're on single income and just had to spend 14k on unexpected shit. It's expensive to be alive rn. I hope that baby gets safe :(

@CountScrofula oh man i am so sorry..gosh, it is hitting everyone i knowww. i have 1200 to my name right now..several people owe me money, and so many house repairs and such!!! my friend, the would-be adopter, just had a root problem under her house as well..so they had to deduct from their 401k for THAT plumbing fix, etc..it is just so much.
