Not sure what changed

But my mom’s parrot now eats the food I offer him. 🥹
He even runs across his cage to his bowl so that he can take it. (Scares me when he’s outside of his cage because he’s always in random places I didn’t notice until he suddenly moves, and it turns out he was watching me the whole time, in range to bite me. 😬)
He seems happy to see me lately, though. Whatever his problem with me before, seems I’m forgiven of it.

See, that's a difference between a human and an animal. If you're consistently kind to an animal, the animal will change its mind and decide that it likes you.
@LordShadowfire I’ll be honest. I’ve never even tried to be consistently kind to another human being. I just leave people to themselves when it’s clear they have a problem with me. Not sure I’d ever give another human being the grace I gave him, but I’ll think on this.

@Colonelmustardseed I mean, that might be the problem as well. Humans get less leeway from me than animals do, because I simply assume the animal is misguided, whereas I attribute malice to humans.
@LordShadowfire We’re the species with the sin nature. Animals’ hearts are different. 🤷🏻‍♀ I get it.

@Colonelmustardseed I still have seen no evidence for that narrative, but I'm going to leave it be.
