I planned the weekend in advance of art and crafts as it said it was raining so I had alot of things planned to do. First we made breakfast kids buttered there own toast with jam made lost of mess but they had fun and so did I. We then got to the arts and craft bit and I gave kids 3 choices on what we could be and they decided to decorate the love home sign after 45 minutes baby woke for a bottle so I left my kids to carry on. Big mistake that was
5 lots of 200g for this everywhere takes me ages to clear it. Tea time and then we did some reading before bed they go bed in a good mood in the end. My 4 year old woke at 4 ish in morning and I tell her to go back to bed but I don't think she did instead at 6 ish in morning I wake up to this lovely art work all over my bathroom
The form can is now empty my body wash gone and the stamps for the toilet. Bear in mind this stuff if out of reach of my 4 year old so her sister who is 6 got these down for her. I have removed everything out of the bathroom into a locked cupboard for there safety. They haven't touched this stuff before and I did make them clean the bathroom up. I did want to beat them round the house for this but didn't. After they had cleaned it I did give them a tiny reward for doing this maybe I'm wrong but if you are giving them attention for doing bad with bad it's not good. I did give them both a talking too and I did get an apology. Was I right in how I handled it, what could I have done differently. These kind of behaviour is being more and more is stressing me out so much I have a lock on kitchen door so they can't come down and steal food now this. And before people say I don't spend time with my kids I do alot with my kids love spending time with them just don't understand why they do things like this they do have toys books more teddies then anything and they choose to do this
If you teach them good behavior gets you something positive,as you cleaned the bathroom,they will eventually learn it's better to do something positive,then have a negative consequences for doing something naughty.
All kids do silly, unpredictable things,they are not worse or better than other children. They are learning and your thier first teacher. I think you did good.
@Justmeraeagain I didn't clean the bathroom the girls did and did a great job too. Yes they have to learn right from wrong they don't know what is right or wrong to do they are learning still
@Justmeraeagain ah yes you said I cleaned is all. But yea they did have fun cleaning it for a reward. I hope they don't make mess just for reward though lol
