My grandparents were 16 and 20 I think
saintsong · 41-45, F
I think my Grandma was 16 and my Grandpa was 19. Her dad told him to come back in a year and ask again, sooo he did! He was 20 and she was 17 and they were together until she passed in 2011 from cancer. Her dad told him that out of 13 kids she was the best one...And she was! To me she was the Proverbs 31 woman All that plus a bag of chips, cause not only was she the epitomy of the proverbs 31 woman but she was funny too, she used to collect jokes from magazines and newspapers and she was so so smart she made her own scrabble dictionary like seriously she had 13 letter words that ended in z!!! You know what I mean??!!! She never turned anyone away and she was never angry a day in her life, plus I have never seen her sin, except she always broke the rules at card games lol, she always played cards...Anyways when she passed I read from the bible the Proverbs 31 woman because she was it, she was a saint in my eyes she was a farmer she had her fields to work in, she was a honey bee keeper too and she hired hands from all over the world she would cook and clean and sew she did so much work her house was emmaculate dishes always done, a feast for 12-30 people every meal 3 times a day anyways this is the....Proverbs 31:10-31
New King James Version
The Virtuous Wife
10 Who[a] can find a [b]virtuous wife?
For her worth is far above rubies.
11 The heart of her husband safely trusts her;
So he will have no lack of gain.
12 She does him good and not evil
All the days of her life.
13 She seeks wool and flax,
And willingly works with her hands.
14 She is like the merchant ships,
She brings her food from afar.
15 She also rises while it is yet night,
And provides food for her household,
And a portion for her maidservants.
16 She considers a field and buys it;
From [c]her profits she plants a vineyard.
17 She girds herself with strength,
And strengthens her arms.
18 She perceives that her merchandise is good,
And her lamp does not go out by night.
19 She stretches out her hands to the distaff,
And her hand holds the spindle.
20 She extends her hand to the poor,
Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy.
21 She is not afraid of snow for her household,
For all her household is clothed with scarlet.
22 She makes tapestry for herself;
Her clothing is fine linen and purple.
23 Her husband is known in the gates,
When he sits among the elders of the land.
24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
And supplies sashes for the merchants.
25 Strength and honor are her clothing;
She shall rejoice in time to come.
26 She opens her mouth with wisdom,
And on her tongue is the law of kindness.
27 She watches over the ways of her household,
And does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children rise up and call her blessed;
Her husband also, and he praises her:
29 “Many daughters have done well,
But you excel them all.”
30 Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing,
But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.
31 Give her of the fruit of her hands,
And let her own works praise her in the gates.

Grandpa was lucky to have her

@saintsong How is Nana doing now?
saintsong · 41-45, F
@Musicman She only has one kidney working and even it's so so, and she continue to work as a care giver even though she has fibromyalgia, Papa has Chrones disease it's hard cause they're older now....But the relationship between them and my daughter, I can't help but to love them dearly because they made my daughters life that much more special, by being her Nana and Papa, even though they weren't they stepped in like they were! I love it! My daughter also has another mentor a fifty something male role model at the rec center, he has always been a good friend to my daughter and another friend of hers who also goes to the gym they are like a trio! He is an upright guy with these young ladies, he works there, he blesses their day, if they need a shoulder to cry on he's that guy, they should pay him for therapy lol! My daughter is 19 and the other girl is 26 and he's 50 something and they are all such good friends! I'm just impressed with my daughters circle of friends and support network, she did good for herself. Smart girl.

No clue. But my wife was 18, and I had just turned 19 when we got married. That was 41 years ago.

My paternal grandparents grew up in the same small farming community, co they knew each other from early childhood. My maternal grandmother was about 25 and grandfather was about 32 when they met. She played piano in my grandfather's small church. He tried to avoid church as much as possible, so I don't know exactly when they met,

My paternal grandfather was 25,my grandmother turned 23 on their wedding day in 1913.My maternal grandfather was 19,my grandmother 22,they met in 1917 and were married in the following year.
I don't know the exact ages; on my father's side his parents were in their late 30s when they married. Each was childless and had lost a spouse; my grandma was 42 when she had my dad. On my mother's side they married in their 20s.

No idea.
Never really had grandparents.
2 died before I was born, one when I was around 5.
The other at 19.
No one tells stories of their parents.
Kinda sad

Mine were married at 18, and had two children by the time they were 21. Yet you think of your gran as always been little old lady.
no idea...never met any of my grandfathers and mom and dad are gone for me to ask them... 😢
Musicman · 61-69, M
No clue. I only got to see them for a couple of days a year.
My maternal grandfather was 19 and my grandmother was 16. He was a worker on her father’s farm.

My paternal grandfather was about 35 and grandmother was 32. They were both teachers, but her family decided it was time for her to stop working and get married. He was the son of friends and the families arranged the marriage.
