Were your parents affectionate with each other around you and your siblings?

I don't remember my parents holding hands or kissing, not even on the cheek, not even as little as pet names. They never went out unless it was shopping, funerals or family gatherings.

Not over the top PDAs, but they did often laugh together and one of the last pictures I took was a close-up of their clasped hands. My niece had painted Mom’s nails blue-green.

My parents often danced together, too.

But my very favorite thing as a child was listening to Pop sing while Mom played the piano. Pop often sang solos in the choir and they would practice at home. He had an amazing voice.

Mom said the first time she heard it was when they were in college.Pop was practicing singing in one of the piano rooms. She knew the song, so she went to the piano and began accompanying him.

@bijouxbroussard Such a sweet life it sounds like. I think even though the PDAs weren't over the top, you could tell they loved and liked being with each other. I got the sense that my parents simply tolerated each other.
