Here's an honest question about family: What are the children of your first cousin called?

According to Google: First cousins are non-siblings that share grandparents. Second cousins are non-siblings that share great-grandparents. Third cousins are non-siblings that share great-great-grandparents and so on.
I'm curious about it. Cause were I'm from. First cousins are basically treated the same as siblings, and their children would call me Uncle. As I would call them Niece and Nephew. It's kind of confusing.
The same as first cousins: neef/nicht

Three of my four sisters left home by the time I was 4. I knew their first names, of course, but never knew their middle names. That's how clueless I was... never mind the names of my first cousins' kids.

@RenFur could be a blessing. Dad was the third youngest of 16 siblings. And they all had 4 to 8 kids each. And half of them were grandparents by the time I was born. It’s hard to keep track of so many.

Oh man! Think of all the birthday and Christmas presents you would have to buy if you only had your main job and a paper route (if you were close with all of them!).

I don't know anything about my cousins. I don't come from a happy family. My mother was an only child. Last I heard there was still one cousin alive on my father's side but that was a long time ago. I never paid much attention to that kind of stuff.

I may be quite wrong but I've always thought of the children of a first cousin as being second cousins. If they call you "uncle/aunt" it's only a courtesy title.

The archaic term was "First cousin, once removed." But I never hear that any more..😷
