Fairytales - whether for adults or children - needn't be banned but they need to be clearly identifed as fantasy. False expectations fuel depression and general mistrust.

@Really Great answer.

I knew a man who went on a mission to find his true love, Not in death, but just in sleep, the fateful prophecy you'll keep. And from this slumber you shall wake, when true love's kiss, the spell shall break. As Smiler eagerly approached his true love and bent down to give her a kiss, "Ooh, I'd like to turn her into a fat old hoptoad!" - Introducing Mrs Smiler to the world

In my experience, children are better at separating fact from fiction in their minds than many adults 🙂
Really · 80-89, M
@SunshineGirl What, kids never having believed in Santa Claus, Tooth fairies, etc: That would be amazing, especially considering what some so-called adults actually believe.
Really · 80-89, M
@SunshineGirl I think when kids finally figure out they've been lied to it is bound to distort their trust in others.
AbbeyRhode · F
Unrealistic how? I found my Prince Charming, and I'm happy. ☺️💞

Not in my opinion, it would upset the Apple cart (Between men, women).

Nimbus · M
@eyeno Well we don't want bad apples, do we! ;)
eyeno · M
@Nimbus we want them on our team.

No. Too much censorship already. Stories are just stories.

Musicman · 61-69, M

Banning promoting such bans would be more valuable....
Really · 80-89, M
@ArishMell How about outlawing the banning of the promotion of bans? Or maybe ...
Nimbus · M
@ArishMell 👍
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@Really :-)
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
I wouldn’t be surprised if it happens in the future but do I think so? No.
Nimbus · M
@Hanginginthere I concur.
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@Nimbus seems like anything offends people these days
Nimbus · M
@Hanginginthere Far too easy and far too often.
Fairy tales were designs centuries ago as morality tales, as well as to keep children safe and out of mischief.
