Dear Brother

Adam, dear brother,
I just want to tell you,
you've been loved everyday of your life.

I've watched you grow up
from a kid to a man,
then left home, which stuck like a knife.

I wished we had lived
much closer together,
but you found the love of your wife.

You eventually moved
back here for awhile,
then had Kimberly which was nice.

I had so much fun
with all of you here,
I felt like my life was just right.

But you couldn't stay.
You packed up and left,
as me and Elaine waved goodbye.

We all would still visit
as much as we could,
but every so often I'd cry.

Now Katie was born.
Your life was now full.
I was so very proud how you shined.

As the years flew past,
so many things changed.
How i wished I'd been there to confide.

I'd love to have lived
near both of my nieces ,
watching them grow up throughout
life.

But your life went on.
Everyone had moved out.
And you struggled with things in your mind.

You've overcome much,
I knew you felt pain.
And I prayed for all things to be fine.

Now that we're older,
and still live apart,
we both now live similar lives.

So please don't feel guilty
about what I've written,
cause in Heaven I'll be by your side.
