Why do parents or grandparents keep reminding you of the same things over again?

We’ve been told that so many times and it’s annoying. WE KNOW!
When my grandma and I were helping with grandpas memorial arrangements I asked my siblings for help. They told me, “Well we can help as much as we can and we will. They asked you and your grandma what you want to do because it’s your grandpa and grandmas husband.”
My grandma “You see (my name) this is why your grandpa and I push you to do things on your OWN. Like we keep saying you gotta start doing things on your own and quit depending me and others to do things for you. You are smart and very capable.”
I got annoyed and said, “I know grandma! I know. Everyone keeps reminding me and I already know. I’m not even telling you to do it for me.”
Then she said, “Watch your tone young lady. I’m just saying and it’s the truth. You always depend on people to solve your problems for you and you gotta do that yourself. No more crying to your sister for every little problem you have. You’re an adult. That’s why your dad was hard you because he didn’t want you being a bum. Even your older siblings have told you that. It’s time you start acting like an adult and do things on your own. You’re 21 about to be 22 this year. I know it’s hard but getting angry and whining won’t help and people won’t respond to that.”

We want what's best and have a different perspective than you. Sometimes the push is hard but you aren't them and they also have a view from when a time that was more direct
