@Nimbus I am allergic to my cat...and I refuse to give him up, so it's partly my fault...but I think I have asthma, now, because of it. I am also allergic to dust, and my cleaning lady thinks dusting is not part of her job. 😔😔😔
@Nimbus Yes. I have cetirizine, which is a 24 hour pill, and an albuterol inhaler, and a cortisone nasal spray, and an antihistamine nasal spray, and Montelukast which is supposed to make me LESS allergic to the things to which I am allergic.
I was getting allergy shots as well, but I missed so many appointments they wanted me to be re-tested, (those needle tests). So I went in for the test, but before they would test me, they insisted they had to test my lungs by having me blow into a tube, and I flunked that test. I started coughing and choking so badly that they refused to give me the needle tests.
Instead, the allergist insisted that I had to see a pulmonary specialist. My primary care physician scheduled me for a pulmonary function test, and I will not know the results until next May, which was the first available appointment with a pulmonary specialist. 😔😔😔
@4meAndyou i was in same shape until recently. An ayurvedic practuoner prescribed Tulsi drops. Worked miracles. But i still carry my Allegra, inhaler, nasal spray. Just in case. 🤞
@Nimbus FIVE years?????? OM gosh...I hope I remember that the next time some self superiorized SW snot tells me how horrible our health care system is in the United States.
But...future vengeful plans aside, I am horribly sorry that you have to wait that long. 😟😟😟
@Nimbus In much the same way, I've been tolerating tendonitis in both wrists...not because I can't get an appointment for physical therapy, but because they would charge $45 for each visit. And I have not been able to afford it. I just decided to wait.
@HumanEarth I was born in far western Nebraska, and spent every summer on my grandfather's farm. My mother grew up on that farm. It wasn't until they moved here, to the east coast, that my parents and brother and I developed allergies. Mainly, I am allergic to cats, and I have a cat as a pet. So this is my own fault.
@HumanEarth I never wanted to adopt a cat. I was working for a patient with dementia, and her 6 year old rescue cat had to be re-homed when she moved to a nursing home, so I adopted Oscar after trying like hell to find him another home. When he passed away from cancer 2 years later, I was devastated, and went right out and adopted ANOTHER cat that looked a lot like him. Mr. Kitty Baby. My allergies have gradually grown worse and worse.
I have decided that when Mr. Kitty Baby passes away, I will NOT rush out and adopt another cat. I need to be able to breathe.
