For those that live alone...

Are you anxious when people come to visit? I sometimes feel that when I do have company, which is rare, I'm reminded of how much I don’t like people in my house, even my own family. The wounds are kind of deep so my anxiety is rooted there. I've been excluded from family gatherings and rejected when I suggest an outing so I sometimes feel like their visit is more of a convenience for them (they need something from me) rather than a desire to spend quality time with me. It's complicated. 😔

I had the lady across the road come over and wake me up at noon today to try and convince me to go drink beer with her......very uncomfortable. She then tried to get me to invite her into my house, completely ignoring 250 lbs of barking dogs......

I could have written this about the anxiety part. Plus I have times where my house gets messy with 2 depressed ADHD adults and and ADHD kid.

Caregiver burnout is an extremely insidious state of mental health as I'm sure you know. If we suddenly become aware that we're in burnout mode, it's already too late.
