I think only if children are involved, otherwise why even live together.

@Justenjoyit why even then?
Justenjoyit · 61-69, M
@samueltyler2 kids need a stable home
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Justenjoyit that doesn't require a formal marriage!
Justenjoyit · 61-69, M
@samueltyler2 In the country I live in you get a lot of tax relief if you are married supposed living as single parents, that is a big help to the family
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Justenjoyit interestingly, in the US, we have what we often call a "marriage tax." If both parents work, and make similar amounts, the taxes asva couple are greater than the sum of filing separately, or was. I haven't checked that recently.

@samueltyler2 lol, when you have children the wife stays at home and looks after the kids, later on just a part time job, the children's money you recive and the tax relief covers the loss in pay
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Justenjoyit that is certainly not the way in the US. We do get tax credits for kids, but that only lowers the taxes, not add direct income.

@samueltyler2 Here you get for one year up to 67% of the last wage but not over a limit set for one of the parents to stay at home, plus child money (250eur) every month untill the age of 25 if the child is still in education. Plus tax relief on your monthly wage
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Justenjoyit 250 per month pretty baby doesn't cover all of the expens s, but sure help. For the most part, there is paid time off for a much more limited period, and then family leave, which guarantees holding your job, but no money.
Justenjoyit · 61-69, M
@samueltyler2 The company has to hold your job for 3 years. After that jou can go on unemployment benefit for upto 2 years
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Justenjoyit as a worker that is why nds ful, as an employer it is awful. I had a secretary go out after having a baby. We could only hire a temporary secretary. We had to hold her job for a year. She finally said she wasn't coming back, so we started recruiting for a replacement. After we found one, she said she was coming back! It was a mess.

@samueltyler2 No contracts were written?
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Justenjoyit most jobs have no written contracts. But, i ran a large program in a hospital and played by their rules.
Justenjoyit · 61-69, M
@samueltyler2 No job without a contract here
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Justenjoyit that is interesting. Where are you?
