Get used to it... until boomers die off, it's going to be more common. The 6k empty homes we have here aren't enough to house our 3k homeless people, never mind giving people wanting to leave home and rent their first place a chance to do so.
We're pushing people out of refuges (both domestic abuse and homeless) into private rents and monthly rolling contracts - then we can't understand why these people come back when the landlord kicks them out to sell the property.
It's better to stay at home with your parents now, if you can live with them, than it is to move out and start on your own.
