I take my swats like a man

I’m 18 and graduated high school but still live at home with my strict parents who continue to paddle me when I break a rule. Do any other adults still living at home also get paddled? Oh and am I the only one who’s dad tells them before paddling you to take it like a man? My dad does every single time.

You are being treated like a child and/or abused. If I were in your position I would move out. Time to take control of your life.

P.S. when you raise kids, don't paddle them. World Health Org has studied it.
* Evidence shows corporal punishment increases children’s behavioural problems over time and has no positive outcomes.

* All corporal punishment, however mild or light, carries an inbuilt risk of escalation. Studies suggest that parents who used corporal punishment are at heightened risk of perpetrating severe maltreatment.

* Corporal punishment is linked to a range of negative outcomes for children across countries and cultures, including physical and mental ill-health, impaired cognitive and socio-emotional development, poor educational outcomes, increased aggression and perpetration of violence.

@ElwoodBlues Apparently someone who supports child abuse disagrees. 😠
