Did you inherit something special from your Dad?

Although he's no longer with us l remember the way he laughed, that wonderful smile and his deep almost turquoise eyes. I see both his eyes and his smile when l look in the mirror.

There's other characteristics we share and it brings me both joy and sadness. I believe it's because he's been gone for a long time now and he'll be forever loved and missed.

Love and appreciate your parents while they're here with you, sometimes they leave us far too soon in this life. ❤️🙏🤗

Ich bin meinem Vater ähnlich. Meine Tochter ist mir ähnlich. Und bald, genau wird es auch mein Sohn sein.

i have a 50/50 mix of mother and father

thankfully not my mothers bright orange hair, it is generation after generation of us looking similar to our parents, them like their parents and so on. it is our duty to continue this process. some disagree and mix with other races. in my opinion is nothing worse or disrespectful

my line must never change. i found my blonde haired blue eyed queen to reproduce with

Yes, of course.
A very high level of intellect, an optimism that can help one weather the storms in life, a great education (he was a professor, and more than that an educator) and love for reading, thinking, absorbing knowledge.
Deeply grateful
@Domking Your father sounded like a remarkable man, indeed a wonderful thing to have are those memories and to share his love of knowledge and reading, etc.,
Domking · 61-69, M
@sensualbeauty1 remarkable indeed.
Went to Scotland for higher studies, but came back after completion so that he can teach in his country's institutes.
He was Engineer by education, yet well versed in literature.
Thank you for the reply
@Domking You're very welcome, definitely sounds like your father enjoyed his life to the fullest and I'm sure your conversations were incredibly interesting.

Short temper and anger issues.
@CrazyMusicLover Yes but they can be controlled. Fortunately you're a music lover so it can be cathartic and good for the soul.

My dad is 91 yrs old... He lives in a care facility now about 130 miles from where i live and work so i only get to see him every couple of months but my son sees him every couple of days and keeps me up to date with all thats going on... My mom passed 28 years ago way to soon... Still miss her even now
@braveheart21 I'm sure he appreciates seeing you whenever you have the chance to visit. How lovely that your son visits and keeps you updated on his health status and well being. Yes I know we never forget those special people we've loved so dearly and lost in our lives.

That's great advice!! I hope others head your suggestion. I lost my mom when I was only 35yo and my father about 5 yrs later. Once they are gone you don't want to be saying woulda, coulda , shoulda .
@goodlil666 Thanks so much, it's true you want to try to appreciate them while they're here, once they're gone sadly that's it, just too late.
Snuffy1957 · 61-69, M

@ArtieKat 😊
Beautiful pic of you. I got things from him I didn’t want but did not pass them down to my kids. Thank you.
@Sojournersoul Thanks so much, I'm sorry to hear that. You sound like a very well balanced, grounded individual and I'm sure your children appreciate you for for giving them advice and structure in their lives.

I never got the opportunity to know my dad
@Mk8155 I'm very sorry to hear that!
I wouldn't know. I was under 4 when he passed
@BridgeOvertroubledWaters So very young to lose a parent, having no memories is a sad thing.
Alcoholism and hopelessness
@Onestarlitnight So very sad, I'm sorry to hear that. I can only say that preserverence, optimism, strength and resilience has seen me through some rough times in life.
RedBaron · M

As I've gotten older I see more and more of myself in him.
@DDonde Hopefully that's a good thing though, to inherit the best qualities of both parents is wonderful. To be able to carry on their legacy makes me proud
