Let's say that your brother has his good qualities but when he gets angry he destroys things and puts holes in the wall, as well as self harms, he apologizes but it happens at least 3 times a month. Would you still stick around him?

Sounds like he has issues that need resolving. Although this can be a sign of other conditions that may require more specialist help. For example someone who has Autism can struggle with changes to environment or routine and this can express itself with violent behaviours. [I'm not saying that's the case with your brother but it's just to illustrate how some conditions can cause voilent behaviour]
