What would you do if your mom stole your college funds?

Let's say that you saved up a couple thousand dollars and planned on using it for school but when you tried to get the money out, you found out that your mom stole it all.

She took the money because your brother ( who's a high school dropout and career criminal) needed bail money. She also asks you for your SSI number so she can rent an apartment for your brother.

That’s horrible. Don’t give her your SSN and I’d block it ASAP, so if she gets it some other way she can’t use it. You might consider suing her for stealing your money if you’re up to that. As others have said, you may get the bail back— if your brother doesn’t take off. I have a sibling who’s done this, but thankfully our parents weren’t involved.
