Im so done with my mom

My sister gets a $100 meal of her choice for her birthday

Me? She offers and promises to take me out to eat. Todays my only day off.

I didnt get to choose. I wanted steak since i haven had it in years. She said "oh no time!" Or she just gets mad at me if i pick a restaurant..but lets my sister pick...

Yet here we are..sitting at a restaurant... my sister has work 3:30..

Good freaking job.

My dad made an effort to CALL ME wishing me happy birthday. He ACTUALLY SHOW UP AT MY WORK WITH A BALLOON. He cares.

I just feel excluded from my mother

No one has exactly the parents we would wish to have, but the only choice we have is to recognize that they're never going to change, so we can accept them the way they are, or stop seeing them altogether. Just looking at your age group, I'm wondering if you're still living with your parents. If you are, that would change things, in that you would have no choice but to put up with them the way they are. You might keep in mind that each of your parents is doing the best they know how.
