Would you be disappointed if your kid got married but didn't want kids of their own?

Starsandfire · 31-35, F
No. One of my children almost certainly won't be having any children of her own, we know that now. And I was heavily, heavily pressured about having kids by my own parents. I absolutely won't be doing that to the daughter that could have children one day.

@Starsandfire my sister chose a career over kids and is very happy.

On the one hand, the idea of not having grandchildren makes me a little sad, but on the other, I more strongly believe they shouldn’t be having children if they don’t want to. My oldest so far isn’t keen on having kids and gets no argument from me.

It's their call, completely. No one has the right to grandchildren. Some people who couldn't care less get lots of them, some people who crave them will never get any. That's the way it is.

No. Id be upset if they didnt want kids and felt pressured into having them.
NeuroticByNature · 41-45, F
Maybe slightly but I can understand why they would feel that way.
Nope. Never. It’s a very personal choice.
