Did you have strange rules growing up?

@chrisCA I used to irritate my big sisters by coming into their rooms and rearranging their possessions, so me and my next youngest sister always had to ask permission before coming in.

@MrsRachelEvans So were mine, but I didn't mind because I usually needed lots of sleep 😴

@SunshineGirl yes not unreasonable really but it was still pretty strict even on the weekend but overall that is good.

@SunshineGirl taking off shoes is pretty common I think.

@MrsRachelEvans Yes, and I now I think it is reasonable. We had to take them off in our boarding house too. Twenty pairs of outdoor shoes would quickly turn the place into a mess.

@SunshineGirl What were the strange rules at the boarding school?

@demone75008 Everyone has to get up at the same time each week day morning. We couldn't go to the refectory for breakfast until the whole house was ready, and if we were late we all got into trouble. There was a prefect (senior student) in charge of each house. Ours would make any girl who was not ready go in her pyjamas, which was not much of a punishment for 8 year olds 😅

Everything in our school life was a competition for which you could win house marks. Twice a week we had house meetings during which we discussed how to win more marks 🤷‍♀

Prayers at bedtime (or "thought stories" for non-believers).

@demone75008 I had a love-hate relationship with Harry Potter (and other boarding school based literature) when I was at school!
