A rough start to the week

Today I had a very upset little girl who can’t understand why she isn’t allowed to see someone who she still loves, despite how they abused her. The meltdown & her sad little face all afternoon broke my heart. She ate hardly anything for dinner and was so drained from crying that she had a nap laying on me for an hour.

Trauma sucks.

Hoping that since we started the week so badly it can only get better...

Hopefully much better will be the case. Try distractions that are New to her and hopefully don't have a connection to the abuser.

For young kids, doing New Things or Discovering Nature are great because they're little curious creatures that are interested in nearly anything!

Going for a Simple Walk and Looking at Everything can be an ADVENTUROUS Learning Time and also a fun pleasant distraction.

Look for Bugs, Rocks, Leaves, & such outside, take a picture and then look them up online.
You can Play with the 🐛🦋🐞🦗🐌 then let it go!
If Bugs are Too Icky Yucky, there's Rocks/Gravel and Leaves to do the same with!

@Valerian she’s 8 🥰 I’m 21. She’s my sister but I have custody.

She loved the snorkelling & got super brave diving down to see the fish. She’s a happy girl today.
