There was someone from SW in my dream last night 😂 it's not the first time they were either... But the dream was creepy...

When the dream started out I thought I was in a prison or a mental hospital. I had no idea how it worked and there weren't many guards but I had a number I had to sign into every new area I went and we did factory work, and had a big mess hall with terrible chow. We wore all white like minimum security and it definitely smelled like a prison (I used to work in one).

It was like I just woke up there day so I didn't understand the rules and hadn't memorized my number. So one day I was just sick of it, I didn't know what I did to belong there. So I started slacking off and wandering around. I found storage rooms of people doing laundry, telling me to make sure I finish my shift. It was someone from SW telling me it was a Trump Work Camp...

I couldn't take it anymore. I walked outside and saw I could possibly leave, but my car keys and everything were in a locker next to where I slept. I risked going to get them and as I was walking out I was stopped by a woman telling me I needed to put my number into the log. She seemed suspicious of me so I tried to say I was leaving work early that day, and to my surprise she seemed calm. I signed the log and was walking towards the door when two men grabbed me and I turned just to see the woman giving me a big needle in the arm.

End of dream.

My dreams are so stressful every single night. I wake up with my sheets tied in knots. I've started sleeping with a body pillow on one side and my big weighted fox on the other so I can hold them and not move around so much.

It scares me because my mom (who ended up with dementia) used to have crazy vivid dreams at night. To the point she once jumped off her bed and broke her wrist.

I want rest but my mind won't allow it...

My mother would have vivid dreams at night, mixed in with sleepwalking. While returning from the bathroom, she mistook the cellar door (always closed and on the other side of the house) for her bedroom door (which was open, because it's always open!!). This is a straight shot across the kitchen/dining room.

She has nothing to move around; she has to walk from the bathroom door and then keep walking through her bedroom door.

Upon returning to her bedroom, her "bedroom" (cellar) door was closed. Obviously, she didn't even question it because she was half asleep; she opened the door and entered through the portal.

They never keep a light on in the kitchen- cause that would keep her up at night. They did have one outside floodlight that shone through one of the kitchen windows, but very little came through to see anything. The house was out in the middle of nowhere.
Even if you're up and attuned to the darkness, it's still darker than the abyss.

She says she doesn't even remember crawling up the wooden stairs across the way to the kitchen/dining room, to her bedroom door (which was open), and climbing up into bed.

My stepfather came down from upstairs (they don't share a bedroom) and found her that morning in bed. All beat to shit. He first thought someone had come in and done that to her. With multiple lacerations, 7-9 broken ribs, a broken wrist, and a significant amount of contusions all over. The ambulance came and took her to the helipad in Medford, WI. Then airlifted to Wausau.

Yeah. So, ensure you cover all your safety measures when dealing with that. A door hook and door knob cover were installed before she came home.
That sounds awful. Just the prison setting freaks me out. My ex and son both work at the prison here, for years. I had to go once, an award for my son. Walking in and having those big heavy doors close behind me, hated it

@Bexsy Yup! I used to hear that slamming before I fell asleep. Sometimes the inmates would push on their sliding doors to make a big sound when they were pissed. I'd hear that too. I worked there a year and I liked the job, just not the environment all the time lol
@ScreamingFox i get that, my son has made it into a career, he loves his job and respected by his COs and the offenders. Some days though, I see the stress in his face

@Bexsy It does become a very strange family lol I really miss that sister/brotherhood. And I live in such a small state I knew quite a few of the inmates 😂

But the environment is strong and when bad things happen it can be a bit traumatic tbh.

There is not much I haven't seen.

My dreams are vivid too but nothing like yours! lol
Just be glad the dream wasnt true!!! 😅
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
@Blondily Let's hope it's just fear talking 😂

I know it wasn't me, had it been me it would have been a nightmare 😂
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
@Virgo79 I'm probably scarier than you are 😂
Virgo79 · 61-69, M
@ScreamingFox we never know😁
Notsimilarreally · 31-35, F
Fuck that is so stressful. I've had some really bad dreams lately, I can't imagine it happening every night. I hope you find relief somehow soon. How long has this been going on?
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
@Notsimilarreally Girl I'm so sick of it. It's been going on for years. It didn't happen when we were in the van, I had the best sleep during vanlife. I'm not sure what to do, everything I try makes it worse.

Only thing I've noticed is it doesn't happen when I get up super early for work, so I think it starts in my REM sleep. And it's worse when I talk about my past in therapy and when I have issues with my ex bf.

I need to get out of Delaware.
Notsimilarreally · 31-35, F
@ScreamingFox you definitely do. The energy there is not good for you! You deserve to thrive! Move to Canada 🇨🇦 😌

I'm just curious. What does a prison smell like? A musty brick and mortar smell (no idea what that is supposed to smell like), or more of a Pine Sol with 4-day B.O. sort of smell? 🤔
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
@Levenrack It's slightly musty, with the faint scent of what wants to be laundry detergent, mixed with locker room and a hint of peanut butter. Don't ask what the peanut butter is for lol
Levenrack · 46-50, M
@ScreamingFox Ahh, peanut butter for the mortar!
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
Anxiety dreams for sure.
Pretzel · 70-79, M
Almost not worth closing your eyes
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
@Pretzel it feels like I don't get any rest
