The thing about being cruel to someone who is cruel to you

Is that there is no point.

They're cruel because someone was to them.

It won't do any good. It will only make them worse.

Right, it hurts you...what's the point...

BTW I feel this way about the death penalty - I think it hurts the living more than the condemned.

The problem is when they imprison for life, we see ex-murderers on TV and find out how they learned to do needlepoint and now see the error in their ways...
