I Will Try Anything At Least Once

I never have "craved" anything except a cigarette?!馃毈 It was so hard to quit, but I at last made it!

Congrats. I quit almost a decade ago. It was rough, but well worth the effort. 馃毉

cigarettes are of the most addictive. I have a few friends who are always torying to quit

@atlantic59: It's a hard thing to quit, but so worth it!馃崁馃憤馃徏

@Rutterman: was it cold turkey, and did you replace it with something?
Rutterman46-50, M
@Peaches: I used nicotine gum.

On a related topic, did you know they used to play the theme from the Magnificent Seven on Marlboro commercials on TV? Blows my mind that they even had cigarette ads on TV once-upon-a-time.

10 years is great Mr. Rutterman! A decade is huge!
Rutterman46-50, M
@atlantic59: Thanks. I feel good about it.
atlantic5961-69, M
I don't know the theme from the Magnificent Seven. But just seeing all those cigarettes burning in all those b/w scenes of movies and TV series like Perry Mason where every small office meeting had at least 2 cigarettes burning. People smoked on the plane
PeachesF
@Rutterman: Yes, I remembered they played that song!!馃槉 It blows my mind that we could smoke and buy cigarettes in hospitals?!馃彞
Rutterman46-50, M
@atlantic59: It's amazing how commonplace smoking used to be and that it was so unrestricted. It seems people could smoke just about anywhere they wanted to.
atlantic5961-69, M
The patients in the hospital always had money to give to you to go and buy cigarettes. Of course sometimes they'd have some money to want you to go and find booze. It was okay in Vancouver. -outlets were just down the block
Rutterman46-50, M
@Peaches: It really is mind-blowing. I read that there was a time when doctors were some of the heaviest users of tobacco.
PeachesF
@Rutterman: Yes, they'd be hanging out of their shirt pockets back in the day!!!馃槺馃樂馃
atlantic5961-69, M
I wonder if the Surgeon General smoked.
Rutterman46-50, M
@atlantic59: According to C. Everett Koop, Luther Terry (the Surgeon General who issued the 1964 report on smoking) did smoke.
atlantic5961-69, M
@Peaches: don't think the odd flask of whiskey wasn't to far off away either
PeachesF
@atlantic59: Oh yeah, I'm sure of it!!!馃槼馃嵕
atlantic5961-69, M
@Rutterman: Good for him! He spoke from experience! Far more validity but what that says as to how hard it is to quit!
atlantic5961-69, M
@Peaches: I have a delicate procedure here. I just need to step out a second, (exits to adjoining room where a cigarette and a bracer await)
PeachesF
@atlantic59: I smoked one after I quit and got sick?!馃あ Enjoy your day, or night. It's time for me to log off, goodnight!!!馃槾馃泴馃挙
atlantic5961-69, M
@Peaches: thanks. goodnight. Sleep pleasantly. -Not in a motel that you just booked into that had a previous week long guest who smoked a cigar.
PeachesF
@atlantic59: LOL, no never...thank you too.馃槉
