I'd Like To Do Anything At Least Once

I almost drowned in the school pool (high school) once.

I tried to drive one of those motorized shopping carts in the store and drove into customers and displays - once.

I put up my hand (but nobody else did) in Journalism, but put it down again when the instructor asked, "Anyone besides her?" - once.

There's more, but you get the idea.

I'll do anything once - but twice is out.

I'm bored after that.

anything a bit "risqué?"

@samueltyler2 No. I was learning how to swim with some members of the gym class who never learned how. The teacher instructed us to hold hands, then to let go and step downward while holding our breath. I did as instructed, and sank. I felt myself panicking and surfaced again spluttering, choking, and coughing. Could hear the teacher yelling, "You did it exactly right!" as I made my way to the edge of the pool and struggled to catch my breath. Despite her encouragement, I never went back in the pool and stayed out more often than in it.

@MaryJanine No, I meant other than swimming, you said you try everything once.

@samueltyler2 I have to know what it is first, and if it seems relatively safe, I'll give it the "old college try". But if it turns out badly or trouble (like the swimming episode) my brain clicks on "not for you" and I don't do it again.
