Sadly many of us are to a greater and smaller degree and childhood abuses leaves scars one has to learn to live with,some of us develop compassion because of it, yet others turn into abusers themselves.

So true. My mother was abused, but it saved me from the same kind of abuse. She never wanted me or my siblings to go through what she did. I'm grateful for a mother that was stronger than her own.

My heart does go out to you, or any victim of abuse. Especially (and I don't know why especially, so don't ask) when the victims are children.
