A friend said today that most modern men want a mother figure not a partner
And I realised that I might fall into this category. I'm not helpless necessarily, but my mother has never been great at teaching me stuff or providing me with safety (emotionally I mean, physically I'm ok) so I look for safety and support in others.
It's not an excuse, but I feel like I'm broken and want someone safe and caring to help put me back together. I've come a long way in doing this myself, but there's only so much I can do alone. Having [NAME AND ADDRESS WITHHELD] in my life last year helped a lot too, and she helped me in figuring out how to be a supportive partner rather than a burden (I still was anyway, but progress is progress) and even though we haven't spoken in months I still deeply appreciate and admire her. I doubt she'll see this but I hope she knows regardless.
