What would happen if guns weren't invented?

Like...we still go down everything else, we just don't invent guns, ever...we just stick with bows and swords and whatever because "If it ain't broke don't fix it" or something.

Just a random thought that came to me, so I posted about it, cause that's what this site is for right?

we'd be stuck with swords and other stabbing weapons as well as bows and arrows and crossbows, but you can wage war very effectively with all of those.
