Where the is the money going??

I'm confused here. I filed my taxes only to find out I'm again having to pay a fine of over 700 dollars for no insurance.
Where is this money going and why are they allowed to touch my money

Probably could have been cheaper to just get insurance, then you would have some money AND insurance :)

Nope. If I went to the doctor zero times in I don't know how many years that's zero dollars.
I had a choice pay the 700 fine
Or pay a minimum payment of 100 or so dollars a month for 12 months?
I should be paying zero dollars
