if you think someone online is 'insinuating' something about you which is false, how should you respond

now i can get paranoid at times, so it might be that, but before i was interacting with a girl on SW and i thought she was insinuating ' i wasn't british', when the reality is i am native british, so i immediately took offence and felt angry, as i take who i am seriously....i called her out directly and asked was she insinuating that, but she never responded, which made me feel more angrier.

any thoughts how you should respond to that situation?

Life is too short to be angered by internet strangers (some of whom are here to deliberately provoke), so I would ignore it.
