how should you respond to a situation like this with someone
asking this one again as well, because i never got any relevant or helpful replies the last time.
i honestly get puzzled on how to respond to someone who does this? when your talking to someone online that ignores and doesn't acknowledge ' facts' you told him or her about yourself, they don't acknowledge facts about yourself you told them and ignore it, but then that person goes on to talk about the facts you told them and associates those things with other people's identity, but they don't acknowledge that that is ' your ' identity as well? and make no comment about those 'facts' in reference to you??
so for example, recently i was interacting with someone online and i told them the fact i'm white, catholic and english, but that person never made any comment on that, ignored it, never acknowledged what i said...and then went on to talk about the subject of being white, english and catholic in association with other people? but never acknowledged that that's my identity too?
was this a mind game, was this person being 'rude' and ' disrespectful'? making out that i'm not who i say iam? and the aspects of my identity don't belong to me but to someone else or other people instead??
is that person ' asking for it ' do you think? do they deserve my aggression? because everyone likes to be acknowledged, that's just plain decency in my book, so when they do this to you, i think they leave you with little option than to get aggressive with them? do you think?
or what's another way to respond to someone behaving that way with you?
