what do you do when you have a 'dodgy' taxi service where you are

i have to get a taxi somewhere important tomorrow, i can't get out of it....but the problem is there's only really one taxi firm where i live, they are foreign owned....and i've had a few bad experiences using their taxis, with certain taxi...
