Would u have ended a friendship over this?

Ange is living with a rich guy who supports her. She is 45 and not working. Call me intolerant, but I don’t like that type of female. I like them strong and independent. She apparently sensed that and lied about it…and when I confronted this new friend, saying she lives in an expensive neighborhood, she said she told the truth. End of story.
Opinions?

Seems like a pretty shallow relationship for "friends" if you weren't aware of her situation and she felt the need to lie about it. Acquaintances perhaps?

I have friends who have made bad decisions and who made lifestyle choices that I don't approve of. That said the lying about it would bother me.....but so would someone feeling the need to confront me about my choices.

If you are friends you both will find ways to work through it. If you can't, there wasn't much there to begin with.
