how can you be sophisticated & cool when you're often anxious

i'd like to be able to talk to people with class sophistication and 'cool' but that is difficult with an anxiety disorder where you're often flustered and nervous when you go out, agitated to sometimes...and just lacking the self confidence or belief in yourself.....this is me.


any thoughts?

have you tried to learn meditation at all?

@Penny i tried it years ago but found it very difficult to do, thoughts are always racing through my head.

@durinsBane1983 id suggest keep on trying. its a way to learn to control your mind which sounds like you need. Journey of Awakening by Ram Dass is a nice simple book that is easy to read that is like in my opinion the only meditation book anyone needs. (except maybe for some Zen books)
