if someone had false perception of you would it bother you

if someone held a perception of you which was untrue? how would you respond to that? i've experienced this occasionally in the past and it made me feel angry, i remember i told the person the truth, but they never seemed convinced, which made me even more annoyed.

I can’t control what others choose to believe about me. I can only control how I react to that person’s beliefs, and choose whether to interact with them or not .

@WaryWitchWandering wise words.

People can have any perception of you they like.
Chances are it's based entirely on their own biases which they're refusing to acknowledge.

Nothing much you can do about it but I think it must be awful if this were in a working environment for example.

@Picklebobble2 biases? biases about what??
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@durinsBane1983 Well you used the word 'perception' in your post.
If you perceive something, you don't know it for a fact about that person so the only way someone would think that way is if they were biased against you.

Something in the way you dress or the way you carry yourself or behave in public....could be anything.

Yes it can sting when someone gets the wrong idea. Not much that can be done if they're not receptive to an attempt to clear the air though.

I honestly don't care. I know exactly who & what I am & those who matter to me know it as well. 🤷‍♂
Depends on who it is. Some people are determined to see you a certain way, either to fit their own agendas or to facilitate how they want to see themselves. Those are seldom the people I give a fuck what they think about anything, least of all me.
