would you choose to die at home or at a hospital? i hate modern hospitals and would choose to pass away at my home.

That's what my mom did.
I will say there is a lot of work for the people you live with when you choose to go that way.
Unless you can afford round the clock nurses and help, because hospice only stops by a few hours a day, I would say it puts a tremendous stress on the family who are left with tending to you in the days, months, years it takes to pass.
So just as a convenience to the ones I love I would remove their choice to tend to me, even tho it would be the most gratifying way to go, and opt for the cold, in hospitable, none personal hospital death.
