Why is it that you find the opposite of what you are looking for with people?

you look for a bit of fun, you find a bit of serious. Vice versa. 😂

It is way worse the other way around, obviously.

People give off the wrong first impression a lot of the time, maybe they were in a special mood so you viewed them incorrectly.
