if someone coughs loudly as they walk past you, is that a personal thing

there's been a few times recently i have been walking down the street and a guy or man or woman walks past me and they cough loudly and it felt personal, i took it to heart....and i thought ' would they do that to someone else or is it just me?'

but more importantly how should you deal with a situation like that? i am a sensitive chap and tend to take things personally.
