Got zero for group report

I'm a leader in group 4. I had a member who was in charge in writing the questions and answers in a large paper. She took the responsibility to take the questionnaire and answer sheet to home, so I agreed because she was determined to finish it.
Next day was the report day and she was absent. I was zero, all of us were zero, me and my group mates were 0 because of her absence. She didn't have any excuse letter and she was always absent but I didn't expect her to also leave a day in the day of our report. Please, it was humiliating having the teacher announce that "the group 4 doesn't have a report, apparently, they don't have it because the person who took it home was absent today." Gosh I want to dig a hole.
Not that this helps at all. However as a retired university professor this one of the reasons I rarely if ever did group work. There is always one missing link in a chain. If I did have a group projects I always made sure that if one out of xx students screwed up as you described, the group still received credit for what they contributed and the one who was irresponsible paid the price with their final grade.
Hopefully this will not affect your final goal [graduation] and your career in any major fashion. In fact, by the time your 5 year reunion happens you likely will not even remember this event.

Best of luck
